What does "deliverable" mean in this checker?
The address passes syntax validation and its domain accepts mail — confirmed with a live MX lookup, with the RFC 5321 A-record fallback. It does not guarantee the specific inbox exists (no SMTP handshake), but it is the same standard most bulk verifiers use before the paid extra steps.
What is a "risky" email address?
Syntax is valid and the domain accepts mail, but one of three flags applies: it is a role account (info@, sales@, contact@), a free provider (gmail.com, outlook.com…), or the domain has no MX record and only an A-record fallback. These addresses receive mail but convert worse and bounce-adjacent tools may filter them.
Why is checking MX records useful before cold outreach?
Every send to a domain that does not accept mail is a hard bounce. Bounce rates above ~3% start damaging the sending domain reputation, and above ~8% most providers throttle you. A syntax-plus-MX check before a campaign is the cheapest deliverability insurance there is.
